Murray has over 25 years experience working in accounting practice. His extensive work history has included positions in small, medium and larger practices, working in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Apollo he was a partner in a four-partner accounting practice.

Murray is involved in both business services and auditing, and also enjoys consultancy work. His hands-on approach with clients means close working relationships are forged, and a true working partnership results. His focus is on small to medium sized businesses and providing added value to enhance the 'worth' of the business.

Most businesses are faced with financial pressures and compliance issues at some stage. Within this context, Murray believes the accountant's role is to help address these issues and, where possible, simplify the client's financial affairs.

Murray is married to Carol and they have two daughters. He sits on the Rangitoto College Board of Trustees and is a keen member of the local sailing club.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University, is a full member of the New Zealand Institure of Chartered Accountants and holds a Certificate of Public Practice.
